Birthday Boy

Hello!

Well, tomorrow is my birthday - HOORAY! I still get a little bit excited around birthdays, like some kind of demented school kid. Even the fact that I turn 29 tomorrow, and am entering my final year as a twenty-something, can dampen my spirits.

Now onto business: here is what I want for my birthday. PAY ATTENTION:

1. A new computer, one that is capable of running more than one program at once without throwing a hissy fit and shutting itself done. I'd get so much more work done, y'know.

2. A DeLorean, with full time-travel capabilities.

3. Every single Spider-Man comic ever made.

4. And Stan Lee to come round my house and read them to me, with his warm, friendly voice.

5. A naked lady in a birthday cake (cake optional).

6. A Carrotty Kid or Lord Likely TV series. Or both, ideally.

7. Full-time work as a Ghostbuster.

8. A lifetime's supply of Coconut Macaroons.

9. Freddie Mercury to resurrect himself from the dead, and sing at my birthday party.

11. The number 10 (my old one broke).

12. A naked lady in a big bowl of jelly (jelly optional).

13. A jet pack.

14. And a crash helmet (safety first, kids!)

15. A ride on a dinosaur.

16. A naked lady covered in ice cream (ice cream optional).

17. A 21-gun salute.

18. Nah, forget that. A 22-gun salute.

19. I dunno...world peace, or something, I guess.

20. A naked lady.

So, there you go. Get shopping!

In the meantime, here is my gift to you: The Best Bit of the Internet, a compendium of crap that I've created and crammed onto computers worldwide. Enjoy it!

Bye now!

Back to the 'Puter.

Hello!

I am fully returned and ready to rumble, after my trip to Manchester.

It was a great couple of days, spent in the company of the affable and excellent Mike Whaite (thanks again, sir! Those massages were lovely!), as well as visiting Cosgrove Hall Films.

Discussions at the studio were interesting, the upshot of them being that there may well be more Carrotty Kid coming in the near future...watch this space! Not that space. THIS space.

I don't want to say too much, lest I jinx it or am picked off by terrifying cartoon hitmen, but as soon as I'm in a position to spill the beans (and the carrots) I shall let you all know.

In the meantime, here is more Carrotty Kid in comic strip form, featuring a guest-starring role from a Mr. D. Mouse - ENJOY!

Catch you all later!

i'm going to hollywood! (well, manchester)

Hello!

Well, although I have only just gone and gotten this place up and running again, but now I must inform you all that I am going to disappear for a week, once again leaving this poor blog all barren and empty.

The reason for my departure is that I am off up to Manchester, to visit Cosgrove Hall Films, the animation studio that blessed the world with Danger Mouse, and who also made this little cartoon about a kung-fu carrot:

I am returning to Manc-land to discuss the Carrotty Kid again, and some other stuff. I dunno exactly what will come of it all - indeed, they might just tell me to take my stupid little carrot cartoon and shove it - but still, I love visiting the studio, plus I'll get to hang out with the awesome Mike Whaite, who is awesome. Did I say that already?

So: I'll see you in a week or so. In the meantime, enjoy this, this and this while I'm gone.

Tara!

iron man, iron man, does whatever an iron can

Hello!

Hey, you know what? I love movies. And I love comics. So, naturally, I am something of a sucker for movies based on comics. Be it Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four (shut up, I liked it), Batman or Superman, I just can't get enough of those spandex-clad super heroics on the silver screen.

So, it is with almost pant-wetting excitement that I present to you the first, proper official trailer for the Iron Man movie, due to hit cinemas next spring.

IRON MAN!

I may have done a bit of a wee.

a fresh start

Hello!

I'm ba-a-a-a-a-ack! Hooray!

Anyone? Can I get a 'hooray'? Anyone?

FINE.

Anyway, those of you who used to frequent this blog, back when I used to actually update it, will be quick to notice that ALL the other posts have been discarded, thrown away into the great, virtual dustbin, and that the whole place has been given a fresh lick of virtual paint. Lovely.

Now, I can start again, but make it good this time. Hopefully.

For those of you that never used to read the rubbish I'd pour out, hello! I'm Andy Fanton, I'm a male (I just had to check then, and yes I am), twenty-eight years of old, and I am trying to do something creative with my life.

So far, this has resulted in:

  • A picture getting printed in The Beano, when I was thirteen or something. I won a t-shirt, a jumper AND a poster for it, too! I still own all three prizes.
  • While I was at sixth form (college too common for you, posh boy?) I created, edited and wrote for the school newspaper, The Scum. It was a spoof tabloid newspaper, full of 'hilarious' satirical articles that we thought were funny, but were actually a bit rubbish. We did cause controversy, once, when I drew a cartoon of the Pope chasing after a woman, but apart from that we did not bring down the establishment or start a revolution. Ah, well.
  • I have also created a web comic about a kung-fu fighting carrot, called The Carrotty Kid, which has so far yielded my biggest success so far, when Cosgrove Hall Films (the animation studio responsible for Danger Mouse) picked CK up for TV super-stardom, resulting in this three-minute pilot episode getting made (largely by the fabbo Mike Whaite) and which featured the voice of legendary actor Burt Kwouk. Look at it now:

Awesome, eh? Yes. Yes it is, is the answer.

Finally, I also have recently started a blog about a Victorian aristocratic adventurer, called The Astonishing Adventures of Lord Likely, which I'm really enjoying and so, it seems, are YOU. Not neccessarily you, per say. But you.

So, there you go. That's me. What will I do next? I don't know, stop asking me. But I hope it's not rubbish.

NOW: ON WITH THE SHOW! (Blog).

Tara!
